A Children’s Enrichment Collective
Living and learning together, rooted, and full.

“I like them all (trees), but especially the olive. For what it symbolizes, first of all - peace with its leaves, and joy with its golden oil.”
- Aldous Huxley
As a tree is known by its fruit, it is our heart that Olivette be known for cultivating peace and joy. And, like the ancient Olive tree, renowned for its long and fruitful life, we endeavor to sow seeds, and support growth toward a long life of inspired learning, living and caring.
What is Olivette?
Olivette’s hosts a ‘small batch’ enrichment collective that home educating parents trust to support and inspire their young children’s engagement, growth and thriving in an enlivening atmosphere.
We gather to cultivate wonder and connection with the world around us of nature, things, and ideas; alongside fostering the delights of friendship, belonging, and respect for others. Through our carefully selected practices, Olivette’s daily rhythms and activities spark children’s interest and fosters confidence and self agency in a nurturing, safe and welcoming setting.

Olivette “Tastings”
We curate a variety of ‘tastings’ from the feast of education inspired by season, locale, and the rich, relational education pedagogy of British educator Charlotte Mason.
We enjoy wonderful practices that inspire a life-long love of learning,
holistic growth, vitalized learning experiences,
as well as children’s autonomy and cooperation.
Our ‘tastings’ include: Trail walks, nature study of local/NY state flora & fauna, nature notebook/ beginning journaling, forest and field days, artist and picture study, various art medium play (clay, paint, paper, textiles, nature items etc.), handcrafts, music-singing, literature & nature read-alouds, free reading/ library time, narration, light recitation, creative movement and free play, outdoor games, mud kitchen, sensory/sand/H20 table, swings, fort building, holiday/special day celebrations, life skills, gardening, cooking, bird feeding, neighborly kindness, and ‘tidying’.
